Political Realities as an Object of Translation
Introduction. In today's world, the concept of cultural globalization encompasses the realm of popular and everyday culture. With great speed and increasing intensity, cultures are exchanging, connecting and creating new formats, which are reflected in language. Through language we get to know the life and culture of other peoples, and the translator plays the role of a mediator in this cultural interaction. The article analyzes the translation of political realities in publicity, associated with a high level of competence and ingenuity of translators. The aim of this study is to analyze the specifics of translating German political realities and the peculiarities of their functioning in media texts. It is postulated that the difficulties in translating political realities are caused by the lack of a single lexical component in the target language, which, in turn, leads to the use of all kinds of transformations by the translator. Methodology and sources. Methodologically, the study is based on the contextual-interpretation approach in analyzing the translation of realities into another language and the basic provisions on translation transformations. Results and discussion. The article describes the complexity of the conceptual and semantic-cognitive nature of foreign-language denotations of reality in translation. It is concluded that the conditions for an equivalent translation of reality are equivalence of the content of the media text and an adequate translation solution, including a high cultural level and professional competence of the translator. It is demonstrated how the content, style and communicative characteristics of the text influence the translator's choice of a certain concept of translation equivalence. Conclusion. Summarizing the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that in order to achieve a balance of naming and deficit formulations of the corresponding reality when translating foreign-language objects into the target language, translators use a set of translation transformations that ensure the naturalness and clarity of the term in the target language and avoid distortion of meaning.
